function.php only working with main theme

    Hello,

    I am currently building a new website, I bought the theme Salient and I need to make some changes to my function.php file.

    The problem is my code is only working when I use the main theme > function.php.
    I tried to use the same code in child theme > function.php and the changes are not happening.

    I’ve installed Query Monitor to understand why I have this issue, I am quite ok with CSS but very bad with developpement and php so can you please explain to me how to proceed to understand where this issue is coming from?

    This isn’t anything that Query Monitor can help you with, sorry. Your best bet is to contact the author of the theme for advice.

    Oh ok thank you, I actually asked the author of the theme and they advised to use Query Monitor to understand the issue ??
