I updated the plugin this morning and the overlay background color and overlay text color for my portfolio layouts aren’t working. I have them set in the Saved Layout section but they’re not displaying. I know I could fix this with CSS but I know this is an issue in the actual plugin so please fix.

Also, I tried to resave the colors and now the categories are popping up on my portfolio items even though I have them disabled. Please fix.

  • Yes, settings not sticking. So many changes in styling that i was forced to stay on previous version. great module, though. i’m sure things will get sorted in time

Everything looks better and there’s even some added functionality I was looking for in this update as well. I hope this is fixed soon.

I don’t know if it’s related, but when I tried to update today, I couldn’t edit the portfolio layouts . . . I couldn’t see any preview. I rolled back to the previous version.
Thanks for this awesome plugin! Looking forward to future updates.

@ben393 They changed up the way it’s set up! They’re called Saved now. You can still find it in the drop down.

Also, everyone says they rolled back to the previous version–how can I do that?

The changelog does say it’s a major update and you should try it first on a development/staging site. Atleast make a backup, and always read the changelog before you make an update!

@1mag3 Thankfully this is a staging site. I’ll just wait it out until they make the changes, or make the changes myself with CSS if it goes too long without change.

    Hey @alchemidesign @1mag3

I see that custom overlay color is working on your site:

The problem with settings like “Display Category” will be fixed in today’s plugin update.

Yes I noticed the color was working this morning, thank you for letting me know about the display category fix!

I have another question, the fade speed is faster than it was before, is that here to stay with the new update?

@alchemidesign yes, transitions and many styles were updated in v2. You can change it with custom CSS https://visualportfolio.co/documentation/developers/css-variables/

    Wonderful, thanks!

Wonderful Plugin you visual portfolio. The way new layouts can be made in Gutenberg, is very handy.
Although I had to reinstall the previous version.
Now I am trying it out on my stage site.
I discovered that I can’t edit the saved ones anymore.
When I open them, all I get to see is the title and no “panel” or link to open it. to add images or change overlay etc.
    please help me out there.
    link to my stage site:

@3k3di3l this sounds similar to a problem I had on my site (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/error-with-w3-total-cache-2/), somehow there was a conflict with Visual Portfolio and W3 Total Cache. If you’re using W3 Total Cache, try disabling it and see if portfolio editing works.

Alas, I am not using W3 Total Cache. So still looking for a solution.

I also had to roll back to the older version as I couldn’t edit previously created layouts any more. There was just an empty gutenberg screen. I will wait and hope the new version will be fixed so I can still use my old portfolios.
