    Hello,

I’ve run into a curious behaviour apparently related to SG Optimizer and memcached. (We have found a workaround, I just thought it might be useful to share.)

On a client’s website, with memcached enabled, changes to a post’s categories are not saved. Example: they publish a “uncategorized” post, then they try to add a category (e.g. “home page”)… the change is not saved.

Disabling memcached seems to solve the issue. When changing (adding, subtracting) categories and hitting Update, the editor shows the previous state as if nothing was changed, but refreshing the page — or going to the post list — shows the updates correctly.

Just wanted to share. If you need more info and/or want to investigate, just drop me a message.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello @dewfrost,

Thank you for your feedback. I tried recreating the reported problem on a default installation, however, the categories were properly updated right after clicking on the Update button. I was not able to replicate the described behaviour and this leads me to believe that it might be related to your website’s setup. It may be caused by other plugins that are installed on it or the theme that is currently active.

You may want to try deactivating other plugins or switching the theme to check if this resolves the issue. If you are a SiteGround customer, you can also contact our support team to get help in identifying the root of the problem.

    Best Regards,
    Daniela Ivanova

Hi @daniellaivanova thanks for your feedback. Ok, will investigate further, it’s probably some other plugin — there are many on that website.

    Kindest regards
