Fusion Builder greyed out

I am using the Avada them and want to edit with the fusion builder.

I can add elements, but when i click the little pencil at the top right my screen is greyed out. I can see the popup to edit whatever field i want BEHIND the grey screen but when i try to click on it i loose the grey screen and the editor.

PLEASE help!

i have tried:
de-activating all my plugins
reseting wordpress completely 2 times
clearing my cache.
using another browser
I’ve even tried another computer!! (I normally use mac, but i tested on pc to same results)

Oh and both the avada theme and the plugin are uptodate

I am new to wordpress and don’t know much of anything, I’ve been trying to fix this for two days and feel like throwing my laptop through the window.
PLEASE PLEASE ANYONE CAN YOU HELP??
