Hi, I’m trying this plugin but, when I try to connect it to my Dropbox, I get a warning about “the old version of platform will be closed on september 2017 and the developer still didn’t update it, so the app won’t work in future” (it’s a rough translation, as I’m getting this message in italian.

Is the developer already aware of this?

    Thanks

    P.S. full italian warning:

“La versione precedente della piattaforma Dropbox verrà ritirata il 28 settembre 2017. Lo sviluppatore di questa app deve ancora riconoscere la modifica, quindi l’app non può continuare a funzionare in futuro.”

    Google translation:

“The previous version of the Dropbox platform will be withdrawn on September 28, 2017. The developer of this app must still recognize the change, so the app can not continue to run in the future.”

Hi guys… any sign of the updater for Backup & Restore Dropbox yet?

I’m still getting the warning: “the old version of platform will be closed on September 2017 and the developer still didn’t update it, so the app won’t work in future”

If you’ve not finished it yet, could you give us a date as to when you expect to finish the APIv2 update?

    Regards
    Craig.

    Hello guys,

Backup & Restore Dropbox has been updated and now supports APIv2.

Please update your plugin, connect to Dropbox and allow access to your dropbox account. After that you will be given the code that you have to copy and paste in your plugin settings blue box and click “Get access token”.

Thank you for choosing our plugin!

    Thanks for that!

Note that when connecting to dropbox with v1.6 it still shows this:

The old version of the Dropbox platform is being retired on September 28, 2017. The developer of this app has yet to acknowledge the change, so this app may not continue to work in the future.

Actually this is still failing on v1.6.

    1. Updated to v1.6
    2. Reloaded WordPress page/cleared cache
    3. Connected to dropbox using “connect to dropbox” button

On pasting in the code and pressing “Get Access token” button, it fails with:

Uncaught ReferenceError: showLoading is not defined
    at HTMLInputElement.onclick (admin.php?page=wpadm_wp_full_backup_dropbox:1596)
    onclick @ admin.php?page=wpadm_wp_full_backup_dropbox:1596

Actually I’ve self solved this too ??

Updated to wordpress 4.8.2 and the connection went through successfully.
    The log shows:
    Use dropbox auth APIv2

    Looks like it’s working again.

    Hello @lantrix,

do not pay attention to the note. It is the note from Dropbox service. The plugin was updated and successfully works with the Dropbox API V2.

Thanks a lot for sharing your troubleshoot concerning dropbox connection in our backup plugin and wordpress update.

    Hi,

Using latest WP 4.8.2 and “Dropbox Backup & Restore 1.6 ( no updates indicated by WP ) and I am still getting the “v1_retired” error when attempting to do a backup to Dropbox.

I have renewed the Dropbox access token a couple of times via the “Connect to Dropbox”/”Request Access Code” buttons and I get another warning during that process that says:

The old version of the Dropbox platform is being retired on September 28, 2017. The developer of this app has yet to acknowledge the change, so this app may not continue to work in the future.

Not sure what else I need to do to switch this plugin to use API v2

    Hello.

I am having a lot of issues since the new update. I spent several hours yesterday trying to reconnect my Dropbox account to restore my backup files.

I was finally able to view my backup files but now I am unable to restore or backup. I keep getting an error on both.

I’m at a loss. I’ve sent several support emails with no response.

Unfortunately there is no new version of this plugin with support for DropBox Version V2 available. Which was promised more than a week ago! I reinstalled version 1.6 without success…
