Future events not showing

    Future events stopped showing in the sidebar widget. It just reads “There are no upcoming events.” On the Events page itself, although you can see the future event for December 17, 2022 (today is December 7), the title bar reads, “There are no upcoming events.” The future event is listed under “Latest Past Events”

    I’ve looked at the source page and the date is correct. I changed the date to another future date, but after I publish the page it reverts to the original date (Dec 17).

    What’s going on? The last time I checked was a couple of weeks ago, when there were two future events, and things were working. All plugins and themes are updated. I’m using a child version of Startup Blog by Compete Themes. WP Version 6.1.1.

    Hi @druekberg,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    There could be a plugin/theme conflict on your end. Could you try running a conflict test? I suggest conducting these tests on a Staging Server.

    If that doesn’t help, could you provide the version of the following?

    1. PHP
    2. The Events Calendar

    I ended up just copying the event to a new post and deleting the old one. The new one shows up. Not sure what happened to the old one, maybe got corrupted in switching from Gutenberg back to Classic editor. Thanks for the suggestion though. Someday when I’m brave I’ll set up a staging site. Good idea.

    Not sure what happened to the old one, maybe got corrupted in switching from Gutenberg back to Classic editor.

    It happens but not as frequently, I am not also sure what triggered it. Good catch!

    Thanks for the suggestion though. Someday when I’m brave I’ll set up a staging site. Good idea.

    We definitely recommend creating one for testing and trying out different plugins just to be safe.

    Thanks, the updates didn’t help, just copying it over to a new event and deleting the original. Maybe a database entry got corrupted or something.

    I’ve since set up a staging site. Thanks for the suggestion and the help.
