    Hello,
I’m experiencing a few problems with Relevanssi when searching for a custom post type.
Fuzzy Search is Active. The index was built just fine. The relevant custom post type is activated for indexing.

An example: One of the custom posts has the title “Bachforelle”. Searching for the whole term gives me a correct result respectively the correct post.

Searching for “bach” does not, altough fuzzy search is activated and the post title begins with the search term.

The funny thing is, when I add or drop one letter (i.e. the search for “bac” or “bachf”) everything works just fine.

    Any thoughts on that?

    WordPress Version: 3.7.1
    Relevanssi Plugin Version: 3.1.9

    Thank you in advance!

Make sure fuzzy search is always enabled. “Bach” is a proper word and probably appears in your site, so with fuzzy search enabled sometimes, Relevanssi is satisfied with the match to “bach” and won’t continue to the fuzzy search. If you enable fuzzy search always, then you should see the expected results.

    Hello Mikko,

    thank you for your reply!

The option “when to use fuzzy matching” was already set to “always”.
Another weird thing is, that posts with the term “bach” at the END of their title do get found…

    See example: https://dev.ritec.at/lfv/?s=bach

    cheers, rudi

I don’t know, there should be no reason why this wouldn’t work, especially as “bac” and “bachf” work. It’s impossible to say without closer debugging why this is happening.
