@himself86 Thanks for sharing the information. Could you please explain what you see from your Site Kit dashboard currently? Is there zero data or is the data different to what you are expecting?

Could I also ask you to try following the troubleshooting steps here and let me know if you see the same issues while in the troubleshooting mode with Site Kit active.

The snippet at the top of your HTML is only visible to you, as a logged in administrator viewing your site. The snippet reflects your Site Kit configuration to track logged in users. You’ll see this snippet is normal and expected by reviewing the guide on Site Kit snippets source code, over?on the plugin website.

Google Analytics and site kit both show zero.

I’ll test with troubleshooting and reply.
I installed Burst a simple local tracking plugin this morning, and there are people vistingthe site in line with our previously recorded traffic levels.

This is strange.

Installed troubleshooting and ran the site with only Site Kit enabled.

I checked the source code for the home page and G-6QGKRLGQHK is present

Refreshed the page and Analytics still shows zero users. (live)

I’m beginning to think there is something disconnected in the back end of Google and that deleting everything and starting from scratch is how I’ll fix this.

@himself86 If the data in both your Analytics account and Site Kit are displaying zero but you are expecting to have data here then I’d suggest also checking the Analytics Help Center. We are limited to Site Kit support here and if the data matches then this doesn’t look to be an issue on the plugin side.

You can also try setting this up on a temporary WordPress site to see if the setup completes and you see the data you expect. However, if you are seeing zero data from your Analytics account then this is what will display in Site Kit also.

Having deleted and recreated the Analytic Property, I still can’t get anything to flow. The next step would be to delete the account and start totally fresh, but for what I want, that is too much effort.

I’ve installed an analytics counter (Burst) which gives me what I need. It isn’t Google Analytics, but a lot of what that offers I don’t use.

My theory – based on the date this started – is that when the UA Property stopped, then the data stopped flowing. It shouldn’t have, as I was using a GA4 property, but something in the plumbing disconnected.

No complaints, Google Anaytics is free, so I have no basis to maon about anything.
