  • Yes this is a problem with me, too. I opened another support item but probably shouldn’t have. This is a really tough issue.

I have several galleries tied to my album. The Album and all of the galleries have space in the name. Yet, some work, and only one doesn’t. so while there may be a problem there with the spaces, it’s not JUST that. If it were, nothing would work on my site.

PS. I just changed my album and gallery name (the one that wasn’t working) to have no spaces, and am still getting the same problem “No images found”.

@mellowvision – The issue at hand with galleries is in the NextGEN Gallery plugin, not NextGEN Plus or NextGEN Pro.

@oudedaf – You can manually update to version 2.1.31 which sorts out the issues with spaces in gallery names. You can find that version here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/nextgen-gallery/developers/

    Thanks!

when are you releasing a tested fix for this? manual updates to untested betas waste a lot of my time. I don’t think you understand how much money I’ve lost due to the nextgen failures over the last 2 years. so frustrating. when? that it is the only question I am interested in hearing.

also, you say it’s not a problem with the paid plugins, but we have paid plugins, and we still have this issue.

@mellowvision – The “paid” plugins do not provide the functionality that was not working correctly, that functionality is only within NextGEN Gallery itself and has been corrected in version 2.1.31 which has been (re-)released.

you’re seriously going to give me a link to the where to post page?

SO insulting. get your act together and release an update already. it’s been 2 weeks.

today’s update does not fix the problem. New galleries created with spaces in their names, and galleries that have been created over the past 2 weeks with spaces in their name, show a no images message instead of the gallery. you can create a gallery without a space in the name, and it will display fine.

rolling back to the old plugin version 2.1.23 allowed me to continue having galleries with spaces in the titles, but galleries created with the broken updated plugin are still unusable, and needed to be reuploaded. it sucks to have to roll back to an old plugin, after 2 consecutive updates don’t work properly. I can’t say I’d opt to use any photocrati product again int he future… this is the fourth time in 2 years that I’ve had major problems with updates breaking functional sites. I haven’t lost so much time or money on any other plugin I’ve used on dozens of sites.

Pathetic… it is still broken in 2.1.31, galleies created over last two weeks doesnt work properly and what is more important, new galleries are broken too.

NextGen Gallery plugin create wrong slugs, with weird symbols, doesn’t change latin symbols to normal one.

For example word in title is “Chocho?owska”, slug should be “Chocholowska”, but it is “Chocho??owska”

I have the new update and my site works correctly now but i dont use symbols or other signs in the words

Back to 2.1.23 and now works fine, but all galleries created since 2.1.26 have broken slug and that create issues in albums.

    Photocrati,
I just noticed that all of our galleries created with NextGEN, even prior to version 2.1.26, are no longer displaying any of the HTML text that we create to describe the photos in our albums. Is this the “slug” that other posters have referred to? The photos are displaying in the Galleries, but none of the text. We even tested this today by creating a new gallery using no spaces in the name (ie: TestJAL_DB_2016-04-11) and adding the HTML text (<h2>Jazz at the Library – Concert #107 – Thursday, March 10, 2016</h2> <h3>The Michael Cruse Quintet</h3> Michael Cruse – trumpet
    Andrew Lin – saxophone
    Darren Benton – drums
    Jackson Steiger – keyboards
    Kevin McClellan – bass guitar

photo, or the “X” in upper right corner, to return to thumbnail images. While viewing
a slideshow, clicking an individual photo will immediately advance to the next one.). When we published the new gallery, the photos displayed but the text did not. Is there a work around for this with version 2.1.26? Does the re-release of 2.1.31 fix both this problem and the problem of the photos not displaying if spaces are used in the Gallery name? OR, do I need to revert back to version 2.1.23 in order for the text and the photos to display? Thank you.

Hi, this issue still exists. I did some testing and it seems that (at least in the current version), galleries containing spaces or special characters are creating the right database name, but keep spaces and special characters in the slug. I just overwrote the slug names with the gallery names in the database, re-created the albums and now it works. Not very comfortable though.

    When will you fix this?

    Best

they will never fix this because it’s not an ecommerce related problem.
