“gallery” directory in wp-content

  • In the past I used Envira Gallery but have since deleted all Envira galleries. In “wp-content”, I still have a directory “gallery” with subfolders named after the previous Envira galleries and all images in them. Was this directory created by Envira? I’m not sure, since I might have used other gallery plugins before Envira.

    Thanks for reaching out,

    Envira Gallery stores the images inside wp-content/uploads directory by default. The wp-content/gallery directory is likely associated with a gallery plugin, but it is not created by Envira Gallery.

    If you have used some other gallery plugins, in the past, it might have created the wp-content/gallery directory.

    If you’re sure that the directories and images are no longer needed, you can back them up first and then safely delete them to free up space.
