Galleries not appearing

  • Howdy,

    Galleries not appearing – I currently have a couple of different types on this page.

    I ran the Chrome Developer’s tools – did not say anything was wrong

    Also turned off the first half of my plugins and flushed caches – still didn’t appear.
    Then second half of my plugins and flushed – still didn’t appear.

    Looks great on my computer, but lots of other people can’t see.

    Just reading about Foogallery alternatives.

    One suggests there could be a problem with Hostgator.

    Also I am using a CDN.

    hi – I had a look at your page. The galleries did not load. Looking at the dev tools console, there are a few JS errors including “jQuery is not defined”. So it seems there is a problem with jQuery on the page.

    This could be caused by multiple things and you see you are also using autoptimize and rocket lazy load. One of these plugins could be causing the issue as your scripts are being loaded async.

    can indeed be due to Autoptomize. as per the FAQ exclude jquery from autoptimize JS optimization and all should be well ??

    Wow … thanks for the quick response.

    Looking at the options you mentioned I decided to try allowing autoptimize to optimise Foogallery too.

    removed foogallery from “Exclude scripts from Autoptimize:”

    Foogallery is now working on all my pages and instead of pagespeed being 85 it is now up to 96.

    I assume (not being a dev) that excluding foogallery from the Java optimisation meant it loaded early and then Javascript loaded later. And removing the exclusion means the gallery loads after javascript.

    Do you forsee any problems. If so I can move to your recommended method.
