• Hi guys, is there a way to get more ordered view of the galleries after moving to blocks without separate plugins? I’m going crazy.

I use the default gallery function without any customisations. I have the “pinnacle galleries overriding WP ones” function on, and it works neat on the classic page (see here for examples). When I try to use blocks… well, this happens.

    screenshot of the ugly one

    1. Why is the gallery floating higher than the text in the right column?
    2. Can I get rid of the shadows AND possibly also the captions on the miniatures? They are sometimes too long and it ends up having a scroll bar on each miniature which looks hideous.

  • Hello,

The default gallery block is not very good. I recommend finding a plugin for this functionality. I’m not really sure of any, but I’ll check around and see if I can find any.

I’m going to test this one:

I will check it out and see if it works for me, thank you!

edit: it’s neat, but unfortunately it hates both tabs and columns. Many issues I have with wordpress are related to columns, and even more since blocks went life ??

Maybe you can help me with classic kadence gallery then? This is the closest to what I want it to look like (classic block and kadence overwriting WP).
I can’t get masonry to stack nicely, it keeps having gaps, I also have this issue outside of blocks/columns.
I even cut the images to the exact same size, but I keep having holes, regardless of the order I put them in.
https://klarakolonits.com/en/mozart/#tab-konstanze is an example, and in case you see it differently, here is how chrome displays it for me:https://klarakolonits.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/example-1.png

edit: I set the pics size to large and it seems to behave more logically, but if there is any tip how to make it work at all times, I’m all for it!

    Hey,
I’m not seeing the gap when I test on your site. Perhaps you’ve solved that? If there is a gap it would usually mean there is a javascript error preventing masonry from running. Can you check your console log in your browser?

In terms of Gallery options, I hope to have galleries added to Kadence Blocks Soon ?? Using the shortcode for the classic galleries would also work long term. That isn’t going away.

    Ben
