Gallery and Simple Embedded Video

I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me. I am using the Gallery theme (a child theme of Thematic). I would like to be able to have video posts and I have read several places to use Simple Embedded Video with this theme, however I cannot get it to work.

Instead of getting an embedded video all I get is a link. I would like it to look like my posts with images (where the image is are on the left and the title and description are on the right). So the video would be on the left and the title and description on the right.
The first link on my page is to a video and the rest are all to images, so you can see what I am talking about.

I am just practicing using information from a friend’s site. So it’s a work in progress. I am just trying to gain experience.

If you know what I need to do to get the video to work, could you give me a very specific explanation. I am extremely new at this and trying to learn as much as possible.
