Gallery block duplicates images when uploading new files

    Hi Team,

    i might have found another issue with Neve… i assume it’s Neve issue as it doesn;t occur on my other page where i’m using different theme and it does also occur on few other pages where i use Neve.

    So the problem is with GALLERY block. When you are uploading media (pictures) to create gallery, files are duplicated with “-1” suffix.

    Scenario 1 – issue exist, steps to replicate:
    1. Create post (or just edit existing one)
    2. Add gallery block
    3. Upload new pictures (do not choose from existing ones)
    4. You will see pictures are being processed.
    5. Save post
    6. Go to Media library… you should see your newly uploaded images duplicated.

    Scenario 2 – when this issue does not occur (workaround):
    1. Go to media library
    2. Add images you wish to create gallery from
    3. Create post (or just edit existing one)
    4. Add gallery block
    5. Choose pictures you have already uploaded to be in a gallery
    6. Save post
    7. Go to Media library… you should see your images are not duplicated.

    What more (in scenario 1 with the issue)… When you check links in the gallery it sometimes points to original file, sometimes to a duplicate… Cannot see any rule.

    I tested this on multiple instances with a fresh installation of the theme and I can’t replicate the issue. It doesn’t occur on my end, so it doesn’t seem to be related to Neve.

    Thanks for checking. But…hmm… strange… how to explain that this happens on every Neve site i have? If i tried to replicate that on page where are same versions of plugins (also latest WP) but different theme (not Neve), all is good…

    When creating sites with Neve i was using templates based on Gutenberg with Otter…

    But hey, here is what i have just found:
    when i disabled plugin –
    Gutenberg Blocks and Template Library by Neve theme – that comes with Neve all is good! So there is the issue definitely ??

    Ps. disabling that plugin is not a solution as whole page goes into mess…

    Thank you for providing all the details.

    We have reported this issue to our developers and it should be fixed soon.

    In the meantime, please add your images to the media library before adding them to the gallery to avoid the image duplication.

    Hi @fotolandowski!

    A fix for this issue wasn’t released yet. Hopefully it will be included in the next update of the “Gutenberg Blocks and Template Library” plugin. We’ll come back to you with a message when we release a fix for this.
