Gallery Block: Image Captions Disappear After Converting from Classic Editor

Hi,

The title says it all. Image Captions Disappear After Converting from Classic Editor. I want to convert an old website to Gutenberg, and once I press “Convert to blocks” instantly all captions disappear. They are still present in Media Library though, it’s strange that Gutenberg does not retrieve them.

I have more than 300 galleries to convert… It would be a pain in the ass to redo all captions.

Is there a way around this?
