• I usually have five images in a gallery, and they are aligned to the left margin.

    All are created the same way, but a few have a white space on the left, giving an indent to the gallery.

    For those with an indent, if you click on ‘Inspect element’, all have a line of code :
    <ul class=”blocks-gallery-grid”>

    Those without the indent, do not have this line.

    I do not have the ability to change the code, so I have not created this situation.

    What can I do to stop the indents?

    Many thanks.

  • There are changes in gallery markup in WordPress 5.3

    see detail in this section > Gallery block markup update

    Block Editor Theme-related updates in WordPress 5.3

    Simply put, some themes need to update the CSS, I suggest contact the theme support notifying theme author the issue so that s/he can update the theme.

    Thank you for this reply Paul.
    1. I have emailed the theme author but had no reply. And do not think I will receive one. I have followed up the link, and can see what has changed, but am unable to correct it myself.

    2. The white space only appears on new pages, created after version 5.3 came in. Pages created before are all right, with no white space on the left.

    3. I have tried to clone/copy an older page, but they appear with the white space.

    4. I looked at plugins which will revert to an earlier version of WordPress, but they say that they are not tested with my version, 5.3, which seems strange, so I have not gone further.

    5. I will try to live with it for a while.

    6. On a totally different matter, what does (@paulwp) after a member’s identity mean?

    Many thanks.
