Gallery (foogallery) is not loading in mobile iOS

Can you confirm if you are using Facebook’s built-in browser?

The problem is only in Facebook’s built in browser. So basically, the post is in Facebook and when the link is clicked, it opens up in Facebook default browser. Only then none of the photos shows up. Also, in there, if we go to all the galleries, and click any of the galleries, again no pictures (only album names). This is only happening in iOS phones (Facebook app)(tested on few different versions).

However, no such problem when the link is copy/pasted in any of the regular browsers.

Hi Hota,

We did some more testing. We tested our foo.gallery demos in the FB browser, and they successfully loaded with no problems. So we at least know that the galleries should work, so this means that there is a conflict with either your theme or a plugin you have installed, which is only showing up in the FB browser. This is frustrating, because there is no way to debug issues in the FB browser because it is embedded in an app.

I will continue to investigate and hopefully find a way to debug the FB browser

Thank you for your efforts, I really appreciate it.

I can tell you that this problem started since I used FooGallery to make my galleries.
The problem is only in Apple phones, in Facebook default browser.

As you mentioned plugins, I have only one (other than FooGallery and FooBox) “WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click”, which I deactivated to check. But the problem is still there.

I am using Divi theme.
The curious point is, this is only an Apple iOS mobile problem.
If you want me to deactivate the “WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click” plugin, let me know.

I sincerely hope you can find a solution to this problem.

I have been investigating further and have a few comments:

I see you are you using Divi as a theme. What page builder are you using? Reason I ask, is I found a post about issues in the FB browser which are specifically using the Divi theme : https://charlesr.co.uk/why-doesnt-my-site-display-properly-in-the-facebook-in-app-browser/

He also talks about mixed content and SSL issues. I had a look at your site and noticed the following error in chrome :

The SSL certificate used to load resources from https://hueofnature.com will be distrusted in M70. Once distrusted, users will be prevented from loading these resources. See https://g.co/chrome/symantecpkicerts for more information.

I then took things to the next level and installed xcode on my mac and ran a simple webUIcontroller, which is similar to the browser control used in the FB app. I pointed it to your domain and it would not load the site at all due to this error : The resource could not be loaded because the App Transport Security policy requires the use of a secure connection.

So another question : have you recently moved you site over to SSL? Or do you use a plugin to force SSL on your site?

Yes I am using Divi theme and the page builder is Divi builder. But not the “Elementor page builder” that’s been used by the person in the link you mentioned.

I also have SSL but that’s been there since the beginning of my website creation (mid-2017) and installed in the web server. I am not using any plug-in to force SSL on my site.

I can help you to debug this problem by returning my old albums in a different webpage https://hueofnature.com/gallery/. This page has albums created using default Divi gallery module. You can cross check what are the difference between the two. This page works fine in iPhones.

I will also look at the error report that you have mentioned.
