If I select “Gallery” format, the post on the home page goes from showing text to showing nothing. I assume that is because I add images to my posts using a URL instead of uploading them. Is that the case?
Look at the post titled; Zzyzx Road

    Thanks,

  • Hi Harold,

    I’ve looked at your site.
The homepage displays in ‘newspaper-style, without a problem. The other pages look fine too.

    See if this works:

    Press <Ctrl-F5>
    or clear your browser cache:

    Hello,
I had already did a clear cache, deactivated plugins and checked it in three different browsers. It doesn’t fix anything. Right now I have the gallery format set and the front page post displays nothing (no text and no picture).

Things have changed now, since last time I checked; This time like last time the frontpage shows, however the header of the Zzyzx Road shows, the article text itself, doesnot.
The post itself, seems OK. Baffling, really…

Try creating a new page with SIMILAR elements; Do not copy paste elements from the ‘broken page/post’, you might copy-paste the problem.
See if that either replicates the problem, or not.

If NOT, delete Zzyzx Road and create the post from scratch.

Ok, I created a brand new post that was gallery from the start, linked to a new picture that doesn’t have a custom link to a bigger picture (what I always do). No Google map either. Bare bones basic. Works just like the other one. Displays nothing on the front page, but actual post is fine.

    Hi Harold,

I had a closer look at your theme.
Change the ‘format’ of yout post to ‘standard’ and it will show the text again on the homepage. The various formats result in a different presentation of your content.
    Check out: https://demos.bavotasan.com/magazine-basic/category/post-formats/
You may need to ‘play around’ a bit with the various formats, to find the one you like best, for the item[s] you want to display.

It looks like there was a change made to the Theme to change the way the preview image works. Which explains the problem I am seeing.

    I am marking this resolved.
