Gallery Not Working (no type option and no gallery carousel)

    I am trying to use the new gallery as described here : https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/
    I am a self hosted wordpress user — but the gallery does not behave as described.

    Specifically, I don’t seem to have the “type” option in the gallery settings. All that comes up is “link to, columns, random order, attachment details”. I tried adding the type into the code bit eg. type=”rectangular” or type=”circle” but it does not seem to make a difference.
    Also – I don’t have the Image Gallery Carousel section in my media settings.

    I noticed that this pending request at wordpress.com from another user is trying to resolve the exact same issue:

    Self-hosted sites don’t necessarily have the same options as .COM sites – so .COM support documentation may not be relevant. Ditto the support forums – they are totally separate.

    Try installing JetPack plugin – as it adds at least some of those gallery options.

    For questions about Thesis specifically, you may need to contact the developers – as these forums don’t support commercial themes.
