Gallery order differs from configured order

    I’ve ordered eight pictures into a specific order. Both the file names, as well as alt-texts are made in a ways that sorts them correctly. Howeever, no matter how I sort them, they appear in the wrong order on the website. Not even manually ordering them has any effect. Removing the images that are in the wrong position and readding them results in the same ordering.

    Instead of 1 through 8 it goes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 5, 7.

    What could be the culprit here?

    Hi,

    Please note that you can set up the order of the gallery from the shortcode, please check the following gif. You can also drag and drop or numerate the images from the separate galleries, check the following gif. After ordering here, you should select Default order from shortcode options.

    In each WordPress edit window you’ll see Screen Options button, please click on the small arrow next to it, and it will be expanded and show an option to change the number of items that display on that page.

    By default, it is 20. You can change it to any custom number.

    As I said, I have the images ordered in the shortcode the way I want them to appear. However, on the actual webpage they appear in a different order.
    I’ve managed to somewhat change the actual ordering by completely deleting some images from the file system and readding them with a different name. This behavior seems to be present on a lot of my shortcodes.

    Here‘s one example of the original problem gallery that’s almost fixed now.

    I have the same problem
    I have about 130 photos, I changed the order by both dragging and dropping and a serial number, all the same, part of the photo is put in random order

    Thank you. This update seems to have solved the issue for me as all galleries now follow the order specified in the dashboard.
