Gallery Settings page fields don’t function, & menus are missing labels

The problem page is: https://www.inplace.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ngg_display_settings (This page is only accessible if logged onto our account, so I may be able to make a view-only guest account if needed)
After a recent update our Gallery Settings page does not have the text labels it is supposed to have in the drop-down menus, after our NextGen Gallery plugin was updated from version 2.1.0 to version 2.2.12. Also, functionally, none of the settings respond any more to changing a radio button option or to adding numbers into any of the empty fields. See these screenshots:

After this is when we first noticed this problem. We were told the plugin functions OK without the menu text labels being there, however as stated, none of the option fields for setting various gallery settings work any more — so the Gallery Settings page, really, is functionally broken.
If you try to change a radio button option, it simply defaults back to the way it was. If you try to enter new pixel dimension numbers in the empty boxes for gallery thumbnails, the numbers do not get saved — it just defaults back to empty fields.
Our development company stated that they could not figure out why the Gallery Settings page was malfunctioning, and that it would take many more hours to investigate further and even then with no guarantee of being solved.
I did see in other support topics involving a “corrupted” plugin installation, that trying the NextGEN Gallery “Reset Tool” plugin is often suggested:
https://bitbucket.org/photocrati/nextgen-gallery-reset/get/default.zip
It does say though that it will “reset all custom settings” — so I’m not sure how much “re-configuration” would be needed after running this?
Any ideas on how to deal with this, would be greatly appreciated.
