I recently installed NextGen 2.0.59 on my WordPress installation (3.8.1) and while the plugin downloads, installs and activates without problems, when i go to Gallery on the sidebar I only get the option “Manage Tags”. It doesn’t shows the other options such as Add Gallery, Magane Galleries, Gallery Options, etc.

I have the same working without problem on my local computer. Is it something on the server that is causing this? The rest of the site and wordpress functions works fine.

    Thanks in advance.

  • just now I get to experience the same problem, after a series of install – uninstall because the lightbox feature is not working on NextGen. Help anyone?

Would be nice if there is a solution to this. I am planning to try and roll back to a pre 2.0 version tomorrow to see if it works without problems.

@aholsteinson – This is definitely something I have not seen before … only the Manage Tags menu item is available under the Gallery menu?

I cannot even think of anything that would cause this sort of menu issue unless it is a conflict with another plugin … but even that should not cause what you are describing.

We’d like to see this for ourselves if possible, would you be able to submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) with log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation?

    Thanks!

    HI, thanks for responding.
I rolled back to v1.9 and it is working fine now. Unfortunely I don’t have the FTP credentials for this installation. The client manages this particular server so we sent the files for them to upload and helped them when it came to creating the database and the like.

Could it have been a permission issue? I notice right now that I don’t have the ability to create new galleries due to this (even tho I was able to manually upload and install v1.9 via the admin).

@aholsteinson – Permissions issues can come up that might look like what you are seeing. That would be one of the things we would look at with the FTP credentials … or at least try to resolve if it is a relevant item to the issue at hand.

Yeah I am thinking that it is either that or maybe the PHP version of the server; considering that i have the latest version working without problems locally on my computer. It was only when moving it to the server that it caused problems.

But I’ll leave it with 1.9 in this case as it works fine and has the features the site needs.

Hmm hope this will finally post.

This is happening to me currently. What is weird is we had NGG on the site before but later removed it as we were going a different route. It worked fine the first time we had it installed. Now it only shows us the manage tag menu and that is all.

@yodismatt – It would probably be best for you to start your own topic on this issue.

@aholsteinson – Thanks for the follow-up. Hopefully you will get the full access needed if any other issues come up on your site.

I am experiencing the same issue. Has anyone found a resolution? I hope so since all other gallery plugins pretty much suck, I’m hoping Nextgen will be adequate…if I can ever get it to work.

If you require assistance then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic instead of tagging onto someone else’s topic.

I am now closing this month old topic as it references an older version of WordPress.
