Gallery won’t update

    Hello. I have added some photos to this before/after slider: https://declutter123.com/#before-after – but I cannot get the changes to display. I have cleared all caches in several different places and even disabled the caches entirely, but the slider images never update. I have tried disabling all other plugins as well.

    The strange thing is I have duplicated the page here: https://declutter123.com/test/#before-after and THAT version of the slideshow is showing the new images. And on the homepage if I change the gallery to grid view, the new images show, but if I change it back to slideshow, the new images disappear again. So I feel it must cache-related?

    I even tried making the duplicated page into the homepage but then the gallery that was working in the “test” url reverts back to the homepage version again. Any thoughts?

    Hi @sarahsas,

    It’s a bit complicated to guess what is happening here but perhaps double check to see if the caching service/plugin you use has a specific setting that ‘d allow clearing the homepage cache.

    Also, we wonder if you’d get the entire list of images displayed if adding /?1 at the end of your URL for example https://declutter123.com/#before-after/?1 that’d basically force any page load new its resources.

    @imagely oh man the /?1 worked like magic, THANK YOU that’s a great trick to add to the toolbox. I swear I had tried flushing the cache in about a dozen different ways and it just refused to refresh the album.

    So finally, thank you!!

    Ok @imagely I may have spoke too soon. The /?1 method works temporarily, but as soon as I remove it from the URL and refresh the page, the gallery reverts back again to the old photos and new ones are missing again…

    Very strange. I have again tried flushing every cache I can think of but still happening. Any other thoughts?

    Hi @sarahsas,

    I’d probably start by deactivating all of the caching services and I’d temporarily switch to a theme from the Twenty series to see if the issue is still replicable.

    Ok so it appears to be a conflict with this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/testimonial-free/ – just for future reference. If I disable that plugin, the gallery shows as updated. If I re-enable that plugin, the gallery reverts back to the old version again. I will be removing that plugin and rebuilding the testimonial slider in a different tool. Thanks!
