    Yes but in fact what I need is the carousel template from the visual editor. On the link above you can see how to make it via shortcode only.

    The page you are referring to is about Nextgen legacy version, and Galleryview template requires the installation and configuration of a third party plugin that I’m not sure it will work with the current version.
    As for the carousel template, it works in my test site in this way, e.g.:
    [nggallery id=1 template=carousel images=10]

    What I need is a slideshow with thumbnails.
    Do you know what solution should I try?

    I will try, but I’m showing an album, that’s why I think that shortcode won’t work.
