    Hi!
I am using Twenty Twenty Two and I have two problems:
I would like to have less space between the post title and the block that is closest below, e.g. an image block. In edit mode, there is a stretch with a plus sign that offers to create a footer closest under the post header. I think it is the one that creates the unwanted gap. But I can’t get rid of it. How can it be solved?
My other problem is that columns are aligned to the left and cannot be centered. It occurs when I turn off “Inherit Standard Layout” in the template.
    Kind regards

    Hi @ozkar891,

I would like to have less space between the post title and the block that is closest below, e.g. an image block.

That space below the post title is coming from the setting on the post title block, as you can see here:

    FOLKHEMMET Gullregn

I think you should be able to reduce that space by selecting the Post Title block in that template (looks like “Page (No Separators)” and then setting the bottom margin value to 0, as you see here:

My other problem is that columns are aligned to the left and cannot be centered. It occurs when I turn off “Inherit Standard Layout” in the template.

Hmm, that’s odd, as I’m not able to reproduce this one. The column block should be centered already, with no need to modify any settings.

I noticed that you’ve placed your columns block inside a group block, which may be affecting things. Can you move the columns block outside of the group block and see if that fixes it? Was there a reason you wanted the group block here?

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi!

    First problem solved – thanks!

The other remains. I tried moving the columns out of the group, but it made no difference. I didn’t have a deeper thought with the group. I just tried different things to make it work.

    Great, you’re welcome!

    OK, gotcha.

I still haven’t been able to replicate this. Would you be able to share a screenshot of your Columns block, with List view fully open, so I can better see the structure? Like this:

You can use https://snipboard.io/ or your preferred image-hosting service (even your own site’s media library), and link to the image here.

Could you also please make sure that both column-block widths are set to blank here:

    Hi!

    https://gullregn.se/wp-admin/upload.php?item=632

I have set the column block width to blank now (they were set to 300 px before. But then the size of the images will not be as they should be…

Thank you! Unfortunately I’m not able to see wp-admin links since I’m not a user on your site. ??

If you visit the item in your media library, you can copy out the public URL from there.

That said, I see what’s going on. Now that you removed the 300px, the column block is back to being centered. It just doesn’t appear that way, because there is blank space to the right of your second image.

I just did a test using your images on my test site and they appear well centered and evenly sized – here’s a screenshot:

Just to be sure things match with your setup, here’s a screenshot of the image-block settings for each image. These were the defaults when I added your images, I didn’t have to tweak anything manually to get things to fit well, but you may need to tweak the settings manually on your end since you’re modifying an existing block.

How do I clip an image into this text box like you do?

Okay, if I leave the block width blank, the columns will be centered. But what do I do if I want to have control over the width of the columns?

    …and

If I set both images to “Medium” they appear the same. But if I set both to “Full Size” they appear at completely different sizes – and – for image one I have four choices of size, but for image two only two.

If I set the images to the “Medium” size, they are placed far apart. How do I control the distance between them?

    ??

…and again (thank you for your patience):

I have also discovered this: On the linked page https://gullregn.se/skymning-i-folkhemmet/ I had the same problem. There I inserted three columns with a larger column in the middle. I wrote in the middle one and left the side columns blank. Then the columns centered. But if I insert two identical columns on the same page, they jump over to the left.

You can use HTML to embed an image in the forum, i.e.

    <img src="FULL_URL_HERE" />

Okay, if I leave the block width blank, the columns will be centered. But what do I do if I want to have control over the width of the columns?

You could select a width for each column and then right-align the image on the left.

Here’s what that looks like in my test, with each column set to 250px:

    Column block:

    First image only, aligned right:

At first it didn’t work with right and left aligning the columns. The headings and buttons moved, but the images did not. Then I deleted the pictures and uploaded them again and then suddenly it worked. ?? Many thanks for the help!

Yay, I’m glad it’s working now! It looks good. ??
