Gateway Status: PayPal is not currently active

    Hi, I have created a Paypal business account and have successfully linked it to EDD. My PayPal settings screen in EDD shows all-green checkmarks for the connection status except for “Gateway Status: PayPal is not currently active”

    However, it is set to be active along with Stripe. I tried unchecking the active status for Paypal (clicked save), then re-checked to see if that would help but the “not currently active” persists.

    Hello @lifeafter40clg, you should be able to resolve that by checking PayPal under Downloads > Settings > Payments, in the list of Active Gateways.

    Thanks, that should be the case! But it’s like EDD refuses to acknowledge that I have it check-marked as an active gateway. But I do.

    I believe you are using the Multi Currency extension. Please go to the Payments – Multi Currency page and make sure to add each gateway for each of the Currencies that you have enabled.

    Thank you! That was the culprit! I installed the multi currency extension first and then tried to set up Paypal and forgot to include it as a gateway option for each currency.
