    Hi,

I was wonderinf if Rank Math id GDDPR compliant and if it sets any cookies or collects any user data.

Also, if I set up an aacount at Rank Math and connect it with my site, does the plugin then collect any user data?

    Thanks.

    Hello @andi0tx

    Thank you for your message.

The plugin does not collect any data of users unless you turn on the 404 Monitor module of the plugin.

In that case, you can inform the users’ of the data that is shown & collected in the 404 monitor page.

You can read about the benefits of the free account here:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/free-account-benefits/

The plugin does not collect any information or sends any data back to our servers.

You can check our website’s policy for registering an account on our website.

Hope that helps. If there’s anything else we can help you with, please let us know.

    @rankmath Thanks.

So – if I use the 404 monitor, will the data only be collected for me and my own puposes or is this data stored and send to Rank Math?

And if I do set up an account, but not use the 404 monitor, is data collected and/or stored on your servers?

    Thanks.

    Hello @andi0tx

When you enable the 404 monitor, the data is stored in your website’s database.

Nothing is transferred over to our servers.

    Please read this post thoroughly:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/free-account-benefits/

Registering an account is completely optional and is not needed to make the plugin work properly. Account registration is needed only to utilize our API calls. Everything is mentioned in that article.

When registering a free account, you need to agree to website’s TOS & privacy policy that are mentioned on our website.

Hope that helps. If there’s anything else, please let us know.

    Thank you.

Thanks, I ead the page you linked but it does not answer my particular question:

If I do set up an account and connect it – is any of my data send and/or stored to/on your servers?

    Hello @andi0tx

When someone connects their Rank Math account with the Rank Math plugin during the initial setup process, we store their website URL and display that in your member area accessible on rankmath.com for easy client management.

You can read more about that here:
    https://rankmath.com/usage-tracking/

Also, we would recommend going through our website’s policy when creating a new account:

    https://rankmath.com/privacy-policy/

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

    Thank you.

Personal Data may be transferred from within the EU or Switzerland to the U.S. to services that are not, or not anymore, part of Privacy Shield, only based on other valid legal grounds. Users can ask the Owner to learn about such legal grounds.

So I guess you are storing data outside the EU which unfortunately is not allowed any longer for website owners in the EU unless they have permission of the websize user (for example by including it in a cookie consent tool). Too bad.

    Hello @andi0tx

Sorry to disappoint but for now, these policies are in place.

If you are not connecting your account with the Rank Math plugin, no data gets stored, and even when connecting the account, we only store the website’s URL for easy website management for the users.

Th eplugin is released under GPL and can be modified to work as you wish. You can remove the requirement to connect an account and use the plugin. Only the API calls back to our server won’t work.

    Thank you.
