Nothing that I know of that I can do from within the plugin. But I am pretty sure YouTube will comply with EU law rather sooner then alter.

Here is a random article saying things I did not expect they will do this month https://marketingland.com/youtube-to-stop-supporting-third-party-ad-serving-in-eu-in-may-citing-gdpr-238012. Nothing about cookies but by guess is they will soon display a message that they are setting cookies if a EU IP is detected like many other sites already do. AFAIK that is what they need to do so they won’t stop setting cookies.

YouTube offers to embed Videos via iFrame a) the normal way or b) GDPR compliant. If you choose the latter option YouTube changes the URL in the embed code from “youtube.com” to “youtube-nocookie.com”.

Couldn’t you implement that in the Plugin as well or does this only work for iFrame embeds?
