    Hello @trsupsys,

we just noted that Ultimate Maps by Supsystic loads Leaflet from the external ressource CDN unpkg.com. This can cause GDPR problems in the EU.

If you use an OSM map the tiles get loaded from openstreetmap.org which is at this moment no problem since OSM is in the UK.

But loading Leaflet from unpkg.com can be a problem. So our simple question is: Is it possible to integrate Leaflet into the plugin itself? Or could you make this possible?

We are an web agency within the EU and use your plugin on a three-digit count of WordPress installations. It would be so bad if we had to replace your plugin just because one JS and one CSS file not being integrated into your plugin.

Answers like “unpkg.com” doesn’t track any IP” or something like that unfortunately doesn’t help since the servers might be outside of the EU and no one has a data agreement with them. The only, quickest and most secure way to get rid of this GDPR problem is to integrate both files into the plugin.

Greetings and many thanks for your plugin in advance,
    -doffine

    Hello @trsupsys,

meanwhile we are considering to replace your plugin by other solutions, since we as a professional agency in the EU cannot risk to be non-GDPR compliant as this can become very expensive.

We use your plugin in over 200 active WordPress installations, and so we would prefer not to be forced to take this step.

The only thing necessary would be that you would integrate the leaflet.js into your plugin itself instead of loading it from an external CDN (unpkg.com).

Could you please say a “Yes, we can do so, wait until next update.” or a “No, we never will do this.”, so we know what this will be about? For now you didn’t say anything.

    Thank you very much,
    -doffine
