• Hey There!
You may have heard from something called the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) that is n force for every company that collects data from individuals that live in the european union.

    1. Since I now need to be sure which of our wordpress plugins collect data and which do not and which give the collected data to third-party servers. So I have to ask:
does the plugin collect any personal data from the user? (Names, Email Adresses, IP Adresses, Credit Card Numbers, etc)
    2. And if so, what personal data gets collected?
    3. What happens with the collected data?
    4. Do they get send to another server, is it stored?
    5. How long is it stored?

I would be really grateful, if you could answer these questions so I could be sure, your plugin is compliant with the GDPR Law.
Thank you very much in advance!

    Have a good day,
    Nicola

Take a look at the widget configuration screen. That shows most the data that the plugin collects. Notably, there’s an optional email field.

And if so, what personal data gets collected?

Email address is the only personal data that the plugin collects directly.

However, the plugin processes the PHP error log, and it may store selected log entries if you use the “ignore” feature. In some cases, the log could contain personal data as part of error messages, stack traces, or debugging information.

For example, if an e-commerce plugin has a bug that causes a PHP warning, the warning message could contain the customer’s name or other order details. Depending on how you use Error Log Monitor, that message could be stored by the plugin.

So the more accurate/paranoid answer is: it may collect anything that’s in your log file.

What happens with the collected data?
Do they get send to another server, is it stored?

It’s stored in the WordPress database. If email notifications are enabled, the last X entries from the log file are sent to the configured email address.

    How long is it stored?

    Until the plugin is uninstalled.
