• With the new GDPR rules coming into play for any website displaying in Europe, what are the Privacy Implications of displaying Reviews submitted to Google (about us) being displayed on our website. The reviewer gave the review to Google, not to our website. The deadline for compliance is 25th May 2018. I would be grateful for your advice.

I do not know. It would be up to each individual to read and understand the GDPR and decide what action if any would be needed.

    Thanks

I suppose it is covered within the privacy terms of Google when the reviewer submits their review there must be something in there. Thanks, sorry to have troubled you.

    Hi,

what about the Plugin itself? Does your Plugin send or catch any data, like IP-Adresses?

    Many thanks,

The plugin doesn’t store IP addresses. Basically, it only stores the reviewer name, avatar, review text, star rating, from the Google Places API here…

    https://developers.google.com/places/web-service/details

The Pro version allows you to hide avatars and change the way the last name is stored.

    thanks,
    Josh
