    Hi there!

On May 25 the new European Data Protection Regulations take effect, so everyone (including WordPress) is working and panicking heavily on not becoming illegal on this date.

Therefore every web site owner must check where his site has connections to and if there are personal data (including IP addresses) or Cookies being used by third parties.

What can be said about the privacy policy of Gig Press?
Will there be a change in the privacy policy before May 25?
Are there IP addresses or Cookies being set or read by Gig Press?

    Thanks a lot,
    Gerd from Germany

    Hi!

    theeventscalendar.com/our-approach-to-gdpr

We’re working on GDPR related issues and hope to have further information that will assist site operators who use our plugins available soon ??

In the case of GigPress, it is the site admin/their team who add data and they are also easily able to remove it – but we’ll do our best to provide more specifics to help with compliance before too long.

Sorry…I thought I was writing to the GigPress support.
    How can I reach them?

    We are them ??

It’s a little confusing, perhaps, because theeventscalendar.com is primarily concerned with our suite of event and ticketing plugins and largely doesn’t deal with GigPress — but we do also maintain GigPress.

    It is confusing, yes. ??

So…what can be done to make the EventsCalender AND GigPress GDPR compliant?

For each plugin that we maintain, including GigPress, we plan on shipping a policy statement that will help site owners to answer questions from their own customers and can potentially be incorporated into your own privacy policy.

In GigPress’s case it isn’t ready yet, but hopefully will be when we next ship an update.

    Hey there,

Since this thread has been inactive for a while, I’m going to go ahead and mark it as resolved. Don’t hesitate to create a new thread any time you help again!

    Ed ??
