    HI

I’ve just found your plugin. My client is wanting to use Gelato in the near future

Is this plugin designed directly from Gelato or a 3rd party ?
It seems to be a new plugin.

It says here on your plugin = live shipping rates. Do we have correct shippings rates to Australia available ?

    We are based in Australia.

Multiple shipping options are available ?

From what I can see When a customer buys a product in your WooCommerce store, the order is automatically transferred to Gelato.

Do we have to setup something in particular in Gelato account end ?

My main question is can we work on designing the website firstly, then setup the Gelato account and configure things ?

Or can we have new ecommerce cart available ready and go live, then in 5 months time setup Gelato and the Gelato plugin to integrate with Woocommerce and gelato ? Will that be difficult to integrate and setup ?

Are products transferred/copied from Woocommerce into Gelato or how does it work ?

I don’t know all about Gelato Print on Demand as yet, still reading up about your services completely.

So once the order is placed in Woocommerce it is forwarded to Gelato directly automatically through plugin ?

Is there a trial anywhere that I can visualise the functionality somewhere from Woocommerce to Gelato so I clearly understand the process ?

Does the Gelato plugin bring additional features into the Woocommerce store ? Like extra features, drop downs, options etc ?

    Thanks
    Kristin

  • Hi Kristin,

This plugin has been designed directly by Gelato, and has been just recently released.

Live rates will give real time shipping prices worldwide, including to Australia. You can always see the available shipping methods and providers when placing an order – usually there’ll be the choice between the best standard or express shipping option displayed.

In regards to transferring orders, there is an option in the Gelato Dashboard to select whether you would like to automatically approve imported orders or check each one manually. This plugin handles the transfer from website to Gelato and makes it as easy as possible.

Our platform is very flexible so it’s up to your personal preference, you’ll be able to register with Gelato now or when you’re ready to go live. You can transfer products from WooCommerce to Gelato and also vice versa.

The plugin will add a tab to the menu of WooCommerce. It is designed to bring the power of Gelato’s print on demand network to your store! The base function of WooCommerce remains the same.

It’s free to sign up with Gelato and there are no subscription costs – you only pay when an order is made. So feel free to play around as much you’d like in the interim!

I’d recommend taking a look through our detailed Help Centre where you can find all our self help guides and further information. Especially relevant will be the WooCommerce section where we have videos that will walk you through some of the processes in more detail: https://apisupport.gelato.com/hc/en-us/sections/360005537900-WooCommerce

    Thanks for your detailed email.

Yes I think I will have a play to test for the client.
Is there a paid plugin or just the free one for now ?

Is this the best way to integrate Gelato and WOocomemrce ?
I assume that is why the plugin was designed for this purpose ?

I will look at the videos also.

So when a client makes an order they still do that on the Wocoommerce website or do they get redirected to Gelato ? (this is where I am a bit confused) still.

You mention there is a new menu item that is available in Woocommerce for Gelato’s features so clients then maybe can order particular items from that in Woocommerce ?

So do all products in Woocommerce need to be transferred to Gelato ? What is the purpose ?

    Sorry for all the questions.

    Regards
    Kristin

    Hi Kristin,

Our plugin is completely free and there’s no need for a paid version as it already has full functionality. The plugin was designed for exactly this purpose, to make it quick and easy to setup!

There are generally 3 parties involved with an order. There is the end customer, your customer facing business/website and Gelato (your silent partner).

Gelato is a white-label production solution, so end customers will make purchases on your WooCommerce website and not even know that Gelato is involved. Gelato will then fulfil any orders that are made and send directly to the end customer.

Apologies if there was any confusion around the “new menu”. It is purely a settings menu for the business. It is not visible to the end customer using your website.

An example may be easiest to explain the product “connection”. Let’s say you’ve decided to sell a framed poster with your unique design, there would be two things needed. You would need to choose the product details within your Gelato account (such as size, paper type and frame type), then upload your artwork and format it as you want. The second step is to then display it on your website so the end customers can purchase it. The Gelato plugin handles this connection.

These videos should help explain the two options of connecting products:
