Gemer Theme Header

I installed the Gemer theme and the header features my blog title and tagline. I made a custom header that appears on my blog and I would like that header to appear as the header in the Gemer theme I have installed.

Notice the header that says ‘The Big Nasty Athletic Dept. Sports News and opinions personified’. I would like that exact header on the gemer theme but when I go to put the code in the header section, nothing happens. How do I change this? Thank you for your help.

Also, I would like to change the font color (of font that appears on my posts) of the gemer theme from grey to black. How do I do this?

Please help!

PRETTY please? I’d like to have the new design up and running in time to kick off the new year on Jan 1st and this is my only problem with this theme.

Relax man. Edit the stylesheet.
Look for color in the body section. Something similar to this:
background: url(img/bg.jpg);
color: #000000;

Theres a lot of variations for grey eg. #CCC, #999, #333 and a gazillion others.
If you see any of those, change it to #000.

Okay, thanks. What about the header? How do I input a header of my choosing into the gemer theme?

Hello Everyone, I am very new with WP and have similar questions.
(Most of my questions are most likely due to a limited PHP knowledge, so please bear with me)

My first one is

1) Using the same theme (Gemer), I can’t figure out how to had a menu bar without adding pages. In other words, so far, everytime I create a new page, it adds the title to my menu bar. If you look at where it says HOME, then ABOUT. Home is there by default and ABOUT is an actual page created in the CP. Is there a way to create a menu bar on top with the different choices.

2) Also, how do I make it so that my site displays pages like that:

https://www.example.com/about/our mission
https://www.example.com/contact/volunteer

This like that. I’d like to menu bar to represent different sections of the site. Similarly to have a folder structure in html.

for example
https://www.example.com/images/summer2008, https://www.example.com/images/fall2010

Things of the sort.
