• Hello,

I’m looking to set up a www.ads-software.com site and after I managed to set up a wordpress.com site I thought I could handle it, now I’m not sure.

I purchased avada as a template, using bluehost.

So just after some general advice should I persist and try and do it myself? If so what tutorial would you recommend?

Or should I try and find someone to do it for me? If so is there any cheap options?

It’s a comic site so I would need a way to sell copies, get subscribers for a mailing list amoungst other things.

    Thanks, Rob.

  • Hi,

If you managed to have a wordpress installation running and installed a theme (Avada), you have already taken one of the most important steps of moving from wordpress.com to www.ads-software.com. If not, here is a detailed guide to do so: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress

Once installed, both platforms are very similar since both are powered by the same software. To start building designing your website you can read the extensive documentation on codex.www.ads-software.com. It is also very likely that the authors of the theme you purchased have documentation on how to use their theme.

Good luck if you decide to follow the www.ads-software.com path.

I would say just stay with it and learn. If your website was running on WordPress.com then you should be very familiar with the admin side as well. There are many e-commerce plug-ins that will give you the options to sell digital and physical copies and also manage customer mailing lists. And if you get stuck on something, everyone here is pretty helpful.
