general blog question

  • Hi Folks – just wondering what the general ‘etiquette’ is with blogging.

    For example, say I notice an article in a newspaper, or another blog, am I allowed to summarise the original piece and link to it in my own blog? Just as an example… say a new species of monkey is announced in a scientific blog and I want to make my readers aware of it.. what is an acceptable way of doing it?

    Yes. ?? In fact, that’s the BEST way. If you choose to quote the source, make sure it’s clear it’s a quote. Standard journalism ideals apply ??
