• I switched my site mmbts.com to wordpress twenty seventeen theme. I had it all customized and working. then in the dashboard I looked at the general page settings, I didn’t think I changed my permalink structure, but now when I try to go anywhere but the home page I get the error “page you requested is not available” and I can’t log in to my dashboard to edit anything.

Can anyone please help me regain dashboard access? do I need to access it via wordpress or via my webhosting site?

    thanks!
    Laura

Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and renaming your WordPress .htaccess file.

If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again.

Thanks! How do I reset my permalinks when I can’t access the dashboard? Do I need to do that through my website hosting platform?

Something strange is going on with your website…
You’ll have to login to your hosting control panel or use FTP program to access your hosting space, then navigate to /wp-content/plugins/ and rename /plugins/ folder to anything you want, like /plugins-disabled/ and see if that will bring your admin access back.
Strange thing is that when a page is not found, your website opens up in an iframe under the not found message
    <frame name="www.mmbts.com" src="https://dsregredir.com/?domainname=www.mmbts.com&drid=as-drid-2540437855034467&a_id=48873&session_token=CiAKEwjMroqt2ejTAhXFoFEKHYdpAyYYBHET78bwv2MdMRIZAG06ipB6i5dMb5ZmN_J6lkeQL07tOUhd8A"></frame>.
I’d say that it is not a permalink issue but something else, or something more. Though Sucuri doesn’t see anything malicious in your website, which is good.

I may have misunderstood your question.

I get the error “page you requested is not available”

Are you saying you get this error when try to access dashboard?

Yes unfortunately getting the error when trying to get to the admin dashboard.. any other way to access it or reset the perma links?

    Have you tried:
manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins). Since you don’t have access to your admin area, use FTP/ SFTP , or your web-host’s cPanel or whatever file management application your host provides (no Dashboard access required). Navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder by adding “-old” to the end of the folder name. Alternately, you can remove other themes except the default theme (Twenty Sixteen.). That will force your site to use it.

Thanks sinip and T-p, I am waiting on information to access the admin panel of our hosting site.. its hosted on IX web hosting and I wasn’t given the information to login to IX. I may have to try the Phpadmin way in unless I can get the other password.

    thanks,
    Laura

Having this same issue, but able to access admin dashboard. Just updated to the latest Divi theme, and the latest WordPress – https://www.thegallerystudios.com. I haven’t touched the permalink structure but maybe updating changed something around? (I am not terribly experienced with anything coding, fyi).
