General guidence with S2Member plugin

  • HI everyone, Sorry if this is redundant.

    I am trying to set up a site for my client (a wholesale company) that allows access to the product catalog after logging in.

    I having trouble understanding the general principal of this app. I feel like the key is to creating a gateway that after a logging in, directs to the main product category page.

    But I am lost as to the how the flow of the sign-up, login and viewing of products works.

    When I try to protect a category or page of products, the app just removes it from the menu and visitors have no clue the page exists. I would like customers to be prompted once to join or login when they attempt to view products or product categories.

  • s2Member is very powerful and can be a bit intimidating at first.

    But, essentially, you can protect content in two ways. One involves securing protected content against being seen or accessed by anyone who is not logged in with the correct credentials.

    But there’s another option, under Restriction Options -> Simple Shortcode Conditionals, which will enable you to show as much or as little of each post or page as you desire, and then protect the rest. It sounds like this is what you are looking for.
