• Dear all,
I am definitely a new comer of WordPress (I have got to know about it very recently).
I am considering to use it for my needs, but I have some general doubts on whether this is what I am looking for.
It would be great if somebody can help me by answering these information questions (I hope I am writing in the right section of the support):

    1) Can I create personal pages of the users, that they can edit with a password ?

    2) Can the users show just a pseudonym ?

    3) Can WP allow a further integration (for additional functions) with java/java script ?

    4) Does WP allow make statistical analysis on some data introduced by the users (e.g. averages or plotting) ?

    5) I have read that WP has a limit on the traffic.
In case my website has a too high traffic, can I “export” it (with the domain name) to, e.g., my personal server with all the data and settings ?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

    Bests,
    Scod

  • Hi Scod,

    1. You can create personal pages of users which can be password protected. You can give the password to them & they can edit it.

    2. Yes, you can show the users a pseudonym.

    3. It does allow further integration with Javascript.

    4. I am not too sure, but there are plugins which would do that. It depends on your needs if something of this sort is readily available or not.

    5. There is no limit on the traffic. You can host your WP site on any server, including your personal server.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello Vishal,

    thank you for your reply.

One last question for this thread.

What if I have a domain registered somewhere else or with an already existing website ?
Can I also use all the features of Word Press on it ?

How does that work in this case ?
Do I need to download wordpress on my pc/server and work with that ?

    Many thanks for your reply,

    Hi Scod,

You will need to install WordPress preferably in a separate folder on your existing website. You will need to migrate your existing site features / pages to the WordPress website.

You can surely download WordPress on your local PHP installation if you have one & work with that.

    I hope that helps.
