General Settings WordPress and Site Address URL

    I hope you can help clarify the following:
    I will be transferring a WordPress test site to its proper folder on the server. This folder is a root folder named www on the webhost’s server.
    In Settings General there are two fields called WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL). Would I be correct in assuming that I would just need to put the URL https://example.com into the WordPress Address (URL) field (not https://www.example.com)? The DNS settings resolve to both example.com and https://www.example.com, so it shouldn’t matter what users type in the browser’s address field. Would that be correct?
    Do I need to put https://example.com into the Site Address (URL) as well?
