Generate API – Tutorial out of time

    Hey

    I have now tried to follow tutorial 3 times to no avail. Your tutorial no longer match the Google console interface and I am stuck with another created project, that I am not able to delete.

    1) I create project
    2) I name project
    3) I go to dashboard > select Project Analytify
    4) I go to APIs Overview > Library > Analytics API > Google Analytics API (Name and Icon changed away from your tutorial)
    5) I activate API
    6) I go to Credentials > Credentials in API Services and here things run in another direction….

    I somehow managed to finish but my site is not authenticated….

    a) API key is not copied to my site, is that correct?
    b) In my API key…
    – Do I set API restriction? (none, http, web server, android, iOS)
    – Do I set website restriction. What URL do I use?
    – Do I set API restriction? (Yes, No, Google Analytics)
    c) Do I set a domain verification under main menu? What URL?

  • Hi,

    We will surely update the video but for now here are the steps you need to follow.

    After creating a new project:
    1) Add “Google Analytics API” API to the project.
    2) Navigate to Credentials and click the “Configure consent screen” button.
    3) Choose External or Internal as your model requirements.
    4) Next, fill the form. The only thing required is Authorized domains option which should contain your website address without http or https.
    5) Again navigate to Credentials and Choose the “Create Credentials > OAuth client ID” option from the top.
