Hi there. First of all, thank you for the plugin, it looks really helpful. I was thinking when I check the option “Generate only perfect fit sizes” that is would generate the thumbnail with the right size even if the original picture is not big enough.

For example, let’s say I have a picture with original size 800×600.

If I ask for a size for ‘custom_size1’, 500, 500, true, it works perfeclty.

If i ask for a size for ‘custom_size2’, 700, 700, true, I will get a cropped picture of 800×600, because height of original is 600px which is less than 700px. How could I get a 700x700px ? I was thinking that by checking “Generate only perfect fit sizes” I would be able to get this ?

If i ask for a size for ‘custom_size2’, 900, 900, true, it won’t generate a thumbnail because width and height are bigger than width or height of the original picture. This is fine.

Thanks for your help and have a good day

    Hi Sebastien,

Is it possible that you export the settings and share these with me? To do so, you can go to the Import/Export tab.
I will take a look and let you know what I can find.

    Regards,
    Iulia

    Hi Sebastien,

I introduced a new option in the settings that can help you with upscaling the images like in the example you gave me (at least how I understood what you need). Please upgrade and use the new setting + the perfect fit, and let me know how it goes.

    Regards,
    Iulia

PS: Please don’t forget to rate the plugin. Thank you!

    Hi Iulia,

Thank you very much. I’ll try now and let you know. Do you still need me to export my settings and send it to you ?

Of course i’ll rate your plugin that helps me a lot.

    Regards,

    Sebastien

No need to export these anymore, I manually made some settings as I understood from the topic description.

    Hi again.

So I run some test :

In your plugin setting I’ve checked both “generate only perfect fit sizes” and “attempt to upscale when generating only perfect fit sizes “.

After saving, on the same page I clicked on “Regerate” for the size “crop of 576x340px”

I’ve that for an image that has original size 533×800, so with a width less than the crop but height higher than the crop, then it will create a picture with a size of 576×576 instead of 576×340. Did I do something wrong ?

Thank you and have a great day.

No, I don’t think you did something wrong. It might be that I did not understand your use-case completely and missed some scenarios. Please export the settings and perhaps provide me with some images samples at the exact size you are using, it will make it faster for me to troubleshoot.

Sure, I’ll prepare the samples and describe for each case the result we should get to be very specific. How can I send you pictures ?

So here are the tests I run. the only case is not working is when width of original picture is less than crop width AND height of original picture is more that crop height :

    I added pictures in a zip : https://www.dropbox.com/s/ibkh8wprbnixwki/pictures%20size%20tests.zip?dl=0

We should get a crop image of 576×340 because original width > crop width
