    Hi there,

I have loads of csv files being generated daily in my wp-content/uploads/forminator folder. I just hit 200,000 generated csv files and this has reached the maximum capacity allowed by my web hosting provider.

    I had a few questions:

    1. Can I get rid of this folder entirely and still retain any submissions to my forms?
    2. Can I stop these files from being generated at this rapid rate?
    3. Are these files storing my submissions, or are my submissions retained elsewhere?

    Hello @elieelia9 ,

    1. Can I get rid of this folder entirely and still retain any submissions to my forms?

Yes, you can, those are exported submissions. Submissions are kept in the database unless you changed options in Submissions Retention in Forminator -> Settings -> Submissions to not keep submissions or in the form itself, you selected Disable store submissions in my database.

    2. Can I stop these files from being generated at this rapid rate?

Yes. Those are generating because someone on your site enabled an automatic export schedule.
You can disable it from Submissions, select your form(s) and click the button Export. It will open a popup where you can change Scheduled Exports to Disabled.

    3. Are these files storing my submissions, or are my submissions retained elsewhere?

Like I mentioned above, submissions are kept in the Database.

    kind regards,
    Kasia

Should there not be a cron job to clear out the old csv files? e.g. anything with a datestamp of over a day ago?

    Hi @sallywhytehead

I hope you are doing well.

I don’t see an indication that it has the automatic cleanup, but I sent this thread to the plugin team for further discussion.
