Generating Excessive Links

  • Hi,
    The settings told me to post here after checking the debug option. I’ve been receiving notice of thousands of Bitly links in the past month, and their site confirms over 12,000. However, I haven’t been doing that much by a long shot. if I create 10 per day it’s a lot.

    My previous server had been attacked, and oddly the number of links per day has dropped since I hired a server management company and dropped further since I migrated to another server. Still, it seems to be generating hundreds of links per day without any reasonable justification. 43% of locations are in Germany, which is odd, since my site is not in German and we’re not popular there for any reason. Yesterday, for example, we had 260 links created, which really is impossible.

    Any help you can give would be deeply appreciated.

    DO NOT USE THIS PLUGIN!
    It has a security vulnerability that will result in your server or site being hacked from Germany. It creates thousands of unintended links to Bitly, but also results in mail spamming through your site. Remove it and run malware checks immediately.
