Generation of too much script executions (CPU overload)

that’s very likely someone abusing your locally cached thumbnails onceuponajrny, disable local caching and clear the cache?

I tried and it hasn’t fixed the problem. I guess I have to disable the plugin but some of my top posts have videos in it and it will be horrific to have them load fully instead of with this plugin. Any other tips are welcome!!!

well, use (s)ftp, cpanel file manager or of file manager plugin to simply remove lyteCache.php from /wp-content/plugins/wp-youtube-lyte/, that should stop them really.

I did and it’s not helping. Siteground is giving me 24h (15h to go) to fix this or they will limit my site again.

If you remove lyteCache.php any request for it will result in a 404 (file not found). Moreover it looks like Siteground (or a security plugin) is blocking access to e.g. https://onceuponajrny.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-youtube-lyte/lyteCache.php?origThumbUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2FG6CqZJChPl4%2Fhqdefault.jpg (which does work on my blog.futtta.be domain). As such lyteCache.php cannot be executed any more so it can not use CPU any more, so the problem *really* should be gone now?

Follow-up: yesterday’s release has some extra logic in lyteCache.php to prevent unwanted (ab)use of the locally cache thumbnails, you can even block hotlinking (with a filter, see the FAQ).
