Genesis Problems!!!!!!

  • This Genesis theme has really got me pissed off right now. In the last couple of days I have deactivated the theme and activated another theme to see how it works. IT NEVER GOES AWAY!!!!! All the widgets are the same, the plugins, nothing really changes. I make changes with the new theme, they don’t take. I want to delete the Genesis framework and the child theme, but I’m not sure if all my articles will be lost. Can someone help me PLEASE????????

    If you purchased that theme, then for Genesis theme support, go to their support forum.

    We do not support commercial themes here.

    Widgets and plugins aren’t part of your theme. The widgets you’re seeing are part of WordPress, and they’ll be there no matter what theme you use. Your plugins are there because you installed them — again, no matter what theme you use. They’re totally separate from your theme. Same thing goes for your posts: you can change themes all you want, but your posts will still be there no matter what.

    That said, I second Jan’s suggestion to go to the Genesis forums if you need help with that particular theme. They have some excellent folks over there who know that theme inside and out — not to mention that those of us who aren’t Genesis users don’t have access to the theme, so we can’t answer specific questions like they can.

    Thanks Jan and Amy for your help. I thought that Genesis was part of WP, sorry, I’m new to all of this.
