    Hi all.

I would love to hear some implementation ideas on the following.

I have a website which I am about to start working on. It’s for an organisation that has offices in AUS and U.S.. The website itself needs to display slightly different content for either AUS/U.S. Most of the content will be same, but there will be slight variations in menu items, contact information, maps, and general static content differences.

By default, when the user goes to the website for the first time it will take them to either the U.S. or the AUS site depending on their location, and also give them the option to change their location as needed.

What would be the best way to implement this?

I figure I have two options.
    1. Use a multisite, however I don’t feel this is the best solution as the methodology of a multisite is for each site to be different and individual. Is this correct? I don’t want to have the user needing to duplicate and maintain the content in two different places.

    2. Use Geo-Targeting with plugins. I guess I would need to write a plugin so the user could customise the content on the single site. I would add checkboxes to the bottom of menu items/widgets/posts etc… where the user could tick whether or not the object applied to each particular geo location. I guess I would also use shortcodes for changing content within pages and/or posts.

Could a few people please offer some advice on the best way to achieve this?

    Thanks

    Nathan

After doing some more research I think a multisite will actually be the better way to go.

I have found a plugin ThreeWP https://mindreantre.se/program/threewp/threewp-broadcast/ Which is AMAZING, allowing me to link my posts/pages within each site together. This allows me to set everything up in the main site and allow each child site override the content if they need to.

I will be able to write the GEO targeting script easily enough to redirect the user to the appropriate child site.

I just need to find out how to integrate gravity forms correctly now!
