Geocode searching

I’m trying to create the geocode of which there is an example. It gives some code and just says to paste it into the HTML section to allow searching.

I did this and just got two text boxes which you could type into. I deleted the quotation marks from the type=”button” section but even though it was now a button it still didn’t work.

I went back to the example, checked the source and copied that code onto my site. It appeared properly straight away but still doesn’t search the map, it just ignores me. Once again I’ve played around with it to no avail, but I don’t really know what I’m doing and I’m just stabbing in the dark tbh.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
