Hi there! We want to update the Geotagging every time our job import is run using WP All Import. I noticed here that is caches for 1 week: https://wpjobmanager.com/document/advanced-usage/geocoding-with-googles-maps-api/

We have an issue where someone adds the wrong location to a job in our CRM (or wants to change it) and when that job is imported again as an update, the Geocoding is not being run again. Perhaps its the caching of 1 week that is our issue? That’s my guess.

Currently, our manual workaround is going into each job, deleting the location data, saving, adding it back in and saving again – then we get the new Geocoding for that job. This takes a lot of time ??

Any support on this would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps a hook that changes the cache time.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi @thegrbteam, thanks for reaching out about the geotagging issue with WP All Import.

You’re right, WP Job Manager caches geocoding results for about a week to improve performance and reduce API usage.

As mentioned in our support policy (https://wpjobmanager.com/support-policy/), we’re unable to provide custom code solutions.

However, this sounds like it might be related to how WP All Import handles updates. I’d recommend checking out this forum post: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/geocoding-trigger/ as it discusses similar geocoding trigger issues. It’s possible WP All Import has a setting or filter that affects geocoding updates.

Contacting the WP All Import developers directly might be the best way to get a definitive answer on whether their plugin allows for real-time geocoding updates on import.

Hi @thabotswana, thanks for getting back to me. I checked out the links you shared and I will reach out to WP All Import unless you know if a hook that triggers the geocoding. Many thanks, Dan
