GeoDirectory for a yoga teacher portal ?

    Hello community,

    this is my first WordPress project which in my opinion is more complex then the normal sites and blogs that I made till now. I’m a kundalini yoga teacher and I want to try to make a yoga teacher portal for the kunalini yoga teachers of a region with more locations and events with the following main functions:

    – each teacher should be able to edit just the own page (teacher profile page) and be able to add logo, text, images, yoga course programm, etc.
    – each teacher should be able to create new posts (new yoga course, new yoga workshop and new yoga teacher formation) or community events.
    – the portal user should be able to search for a yoga course and yoga course category to a location or area around location with google maps integration
    – the portal user can subscribe to the newsletter or rss feeds in order to receive the new posts and events related to his location or region

    So is the GeoDirectory for me a starting point? Do I need other plugins for the main functionality? Could you give me some hints, how you would handle with such a project?

    Hi Marius,

    GD can do all that but some functionality would require some paid addons, from your description i think you would need at least, locations manager and events manager. You can have the instructors setup a “studio” or personal page and then have them link events to it, so on the “studio” page there will be a tab to list all events, and on the events page there will be a link to the studio.

    and thank you for your great answer. Yes, I’m looking for a paid plugin and even think about it to pay for the membership for all addons. This will be not my last yelp-likely project ??

    Do you have some demo sites with the GeoDirectory working on them?

    In a lot of blogs I read a lot about Listify. Does have Listify more options and functionality as GeoDirectory ?? ? Do you feel in any way under it ?

    OK, I read about your great support, and for me this is an important criterion.
